Sadako 3D 2

The sequel to the big hit horror movie ‘Sadako 3D‘, titled ‘Sadako 3D 2‘ will be released starring Takimoto Miori, and its preview trailer and poster have recently been revealed.

Takamori Miori
On April 16th, it was revealed that young actress Takimoto Miori is going to star in the upcoming sequel to the popular horror movie ‘Sadako 3D‘, announced last October.

Suzuki Koji, the author of the original ‘Ring’ novels, and director Hanabusa Tsutomu have once again teamed up. Their goal is to once again create “the most terrifying 3D attraction horror movie“. Filming of the movie already began in early March and is being realized with the latest 3D technology available. Director Hanabusa is expecting to wrap up filming at the end of April.

Takimoto had her breakthrough in the NHK morning drama ‘Teppan‘ and appeared in many dramas ever since. Her role as the protagonist in ‘Sadako 3D 2‘ is going to mark her first starring role in a movie. As if that isn’t already a big enough challenge, she also has to deal with her extreme fear of ghosts.
In fact, Takimoto is even afraid of just holding the script with its pitch black cover in her hands. Therefore, she forced herself to read through the whole script and memorize most of it in just three days. Director Hanabusa revealed with a grin that he is making her cry almost every day.

‘Sadako 3D’ was a huge hit at the box office, especially among teenagers who made up more than half of the moviegoers. A surprising result for a 3D movie in Japan. Moreover, the movie and its horror icon Sadako had been in the news for its unique promotional campaigns. Sadako appeared at baseball opening ceremonies, teamed up with ‘Hello Kitty‘, and even released a photo book.

Director Hanabusa said about the sequel, “My goal is to top the ranking for the most satisfying 3D horror movie for two years in a row! I want this to become a work that defines 3D horror movies!

Since ‘Sadako 3D 2′ is set five years after the events of ‘Sadako 3D’, some cast members from the previous film will also appear in the sequel, which include Seto Koji, Ishihara Satomi, Yamamoto Yusuke, and Tayama Ryosei.

The story follows 24-year-old ‘Ando Fuuko’ (Takimoto), a clinical psychology graduate student who raises her 4-year-old niece, ‘Nagisa’ (played by Hirasawa Kokoro), who is the daughter of her older brother ‘Takanori’ (Seto) and ‘Akane’ (Ishihara).
‘Akane’ died after giving birth to the baby, and ‘Takanori’ is now spending his retirement life. Though ‘Takanori’ did not tell ‘Fuuko’ about what happened in the past, with many mysterious things starting to happen around ‘Nagisa’, ‘Fuuko’ soon discovers that those are related to the ‘cursed online clip’ case that happened five years ago.

Same as the previous film, the original story for the sequel is written by Suzuki Koji again, and it’s directed by Hanabusa Tsutomu as well.

‘Sadako 3D 2′ is set for release on August 30th.

flumpool - Sakai Kazuki to Go on Hiatus in Order to Devote Himself to Dieting

flumpool is searching for a help member

flumpool has announced that guitarist Sakai Kazuki will be taking a break from appearing on visuals for the time being in order to devote himself to his diet.

Sakai has been dieting since the band’s debut, but has failed and rebounded repeatedly. As a result, he’s decided to take his diet seriously and made this decision. He declared that he will be successful with his diet by late-June and return to the band. Since he will only go on hiatus from appearing on visuals, he will still continue to produce music, write blogs, and appear on radio programs.

To accompany Sakai’s hiatus, flumpool is currently looking for a help member. Application conditions include “someone that looks like Sakai Kazuki“, “someone who looks good in a jacket“, and someone who is used to going on stage“.

Studio Ghibli - “Majo no Takkyubin” (Kiki's Delivery Service) to Get Live-action Movie Adaptation Starring Koshiba Fuka

“Majo no Takkyubin (aka “Kiki’s Delivery Service”)” which is a masterpiece of children’s fantasy novel written by Kadono Eiko, will be getting a live-action movie adaptation.

It is a growth story of a young witch Kiki and her partner, black cat named Jiji. The original novel which has 6 volumes in total was released during 1985 to 2009, and it  was translated into English, Italian, Chinese, Swedish, and Korean. As it’s widely well-known, Studio Ghibli made its animation film adaptation back in 1989.

Though the animation film was based on the first volume from the series, this live-action movie will feature the first and second volumes.

It has been announced that the movie will be directed by Shimizu Takashi who is known for horror movies like “Ju-on“, and the protagonist Kiki will be played by 16-year-old rookie actress Koshiba Fuka. Koshiba was chosen by audition among 500 candidates, and this will mark her first appearance in a film, and also, first leading role.

Koshiba Fuka

Koshiba recently updated her official blog with 3 pages of a letter, making the announcement and also expressing her thoughts.

On the blog, she wrote, “When I was told that I passed the audition, my mind went blank. I cried so much due to joy.” However, she also expressed that she’s feeling a bit anxious about playing the role of Kiki. “The ‘Kiki’ I’m playing will be different from ‘Kiki’ you all imagine. Even though I’m not good at expressing or making an appeal for myself, I will try my best playing Koshiba Fuka’s own Kiki, without disappointing the expectations of those who chose me, while cherishing many people’s love toward ‘Majo no Takkyubin’.”

Reportedly, Koshiba who learned about expressiveness from figure skating, has been doing practice swings with a wooden sword for the beautiful flying scenes, which many people will be curious about.
The filming is said to begin at the end of May on an island in the Seto Inland Sea, and is scheduled for release next spring.
