Oguri Shun New Drama

It was revealed that actor Oguri Shun will be starring in new drama " BORDER", which will be his first starring drama on TV Asahi.

"BORDER" is newly written by the Naoki Prize winning novelist/ scriptwriter Kaneshiro Kazuki ("GO", "SP Keishichou Keibi-bu Keigo-ka Dai 4-gakari"), and reportedly, Kaneshiro wrote the story with Oguri in mind. In the drama, Oguri will play a detective named "Ishikawa Ango" who has a special ability to be able to communicate with the dead.

Detective Ishikawa was shot in the head during a case, but he was miraculously resuscitated. When he came back to life, he was gifted with a special ability to communicate.with dead people. Using the ability, Ishikawa elicits the testimonies from the killed victims, and tries to solve difficult cases.

Other main cast members include Aoki Munetaka (as Ishikawa's rival detective "Tachibana Yuma"), Haru (as a special medical examiner "Higa Mika"), and Endo Kenichi (as Ishikawa's boss "Ichikura Takuji"). Furuta Arata, Takito Kenichi , Nomaguchi Toru , and Hamano Kenta will also appear in the drama. "BORDER" will begin airing in April on TV Asahi (every Thursday at 9:00 pm).

Synopsis: Saigo Ryusuke (Nakai Kiichi), who was born and raised in  coastal town in Tohoku, becomes the manager of the branch office of a local credit union. He builds a modest house on a small hill overlooking the sea and lives happily with his beautiful wife Asako (Higuchi Kanako), mother Nami (Yoshiyuki Kazuko) and daughter Chiaki (Kuroki Meisa) who works at the city hall. On one of Ryusuke’s days off work, the Saigos head to the house of Chiaki’s boyfriend Hamaguchi Shuichi (Watanabe Dai) for the first meeting between both sets of parents. The Hamaguchi have been fishermen for generations. There is Shuichi’s taciturn father Katsumi (Yanagiba Toshiro), mother Masayo (Kishimoto Kayoko), grandfather Kichiya (Hashizume Isao), grandmother Iku (Baisho Mitsuko) and younger brother Mitsuhiko (Kamiki Ryunosuke). Chiaki, who dreams of being active in national politics someday in the future, has given this condition in her marriage to Shuichi. Ryusuke and his wife have mixed feelings about their daughter’s marriage to a fisherman’s family, but it is also the same with the Hamaguchis. However, Chiaki and Shuichi are firm in their decision to marry and both families consent to their children’s marriage. At a dinner party, Ryusuke and Katsumi both realise that they are junior high school classmates.
 

However, five days later on 11 March 2011, an earthquake and tsunami strikes eastern Japan and the destinies of the two families are drastically changed. The tsunami claims the lives of Masayo, Iku and Shuichi. The Hamaguchis also lose both house and boat. On the other hand, the Saigos escape harm because their house is on high ground. Chiaki is swamped with work to the extent that she has no interlude to feel sad over the loss of her fiance. Wanting to be of help to the Hamaguchis, Ryusuke and Asako make an offer to them to stay in their house. However, on the night of the visit of Katsumi, Kichiya and Mitsuhiko to the Saigos, havoc ensues …

Kanata Hongo starring in the “Real Onigokko” TV drama

    According to Cinema Today, 22-year-old actor Kanata Hongo will be getting his first lead TV drama role in a new series called Real Onigokko: THE ORIGIN, playing the protagonist Tsubasa Sato. The series is based on Yusuke Yamada's 2001 novel Real Onigokko (aka The Chasing World ), which was hugely popular among teens.

    The novel has already spawned a slew of adaptations, including manga, anime, and a series of films. According to Hongo, the drama will be the most faithful adaptation of the original work to date.

Onigokko is a Japanese version of the children's game "tag" in which one player is designated "oni" (demon) and must try to catch the other players.

    Real Onigokko is set in the near future, when people with the surname "Sato" are chased down

and killed if they're caught. The drama will stick to this basic premise with a clear and concise

series of plot developments.

    Fumika Shimizu, known best for playing Yuki Jojima in Kamen Rider OOO and Kamen Rider Fourze, will play Sato's little sister Ai. Ryusei Yokohama (Joker Game) will play his best friend Hiroshi Sato.

    Filming of "Real Onigokko: THE ORIGIN" began in early February. It will air every Tuesday on Teletama, Chiba TV, and tvk beginning on April 9.

Itazura na Kiss New Live-Action TV Drama

Kaoru Tada 's classic unfinished shōjo manga Itazura Na Kiss is getting a new television drama adaptation starting on March 29. The Itazura Na Kiss ~Love in Tokyo
drama will star 16-year-old model
and actress Honoka Miki (Suzuki- sensei, Maria Watches Over Us) as Kotoko and 25-year-old Yūki Furukawa (High School Debut, Rich
Man, Poor Woman) as Naoki. Miki herself is a huge fan of Tada's work, and owns all of the manga
volumes. Yūki Yamada (2012's GTO , Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) will also star in the series as Naoki's love rival Kinnosuke Ikezawa. The series will have a total of 16 episodes.

In the romantic comedy, a high school girl named Kotoko finally
tells a fellow senior named Naoki
that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their first day of high school. However, Naoki, a haughty "super-ikemen" (handsome male) with smarts and sports talent, rejects her offhand. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko's family house. While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko andnher dad stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend...whose son is Naoki.

The story follows Naoki and Kotoko through high school and beyond, but the manga is unfinished because Tada passed away in an accident in 1999. The popular manga has more than 30 million copies in print. The story was previously adapted into a television drama series in Japan in 1996, two drama series in Taiwan under the name It Started with a Kiss in 2005 and 2007, a 2008 stage play , a 2008 television anime series, and drama series in South Korea in
2010.

company will release the 10th
volume in November.

Yui Aragaki & Masato SakaiAppears at "Legal High" SPScreening

On April 1st, Yui Aragaki , along with fellow lead cast members Masato Sakai and Kinya Kitaoji , appeared at the completion screening of "Legal High" SP held in Odaiba. Sakai, who has announced his upcoming marriage with actress Kanno Miho, was asked by reporters about the wedding, giving a bright smile in reply to convey his happiness towards it. Kitaoji then commented that he thought there's got to be a reason behind Masato's energetic and inspired mood while filming and he finally
realized it after the marriage news
went out, teasing his fellow Legal
High actor.
Aragaki reprises her role as the newbie lawyer, Mayuzumi, who works with Komikado, played by Masato. In the special, the setting is in a junior high school where a case was carried out against the school after a bullying incident with one of their students and Kitaoji takes on the role of the lawyer who defends the school.
The Fuji TV drama SP will start airing on April 13 at 9PM.
