Translation

Under the blue night sky
You looked at love from behind

I looked at your innocent sleeping face you show me sometimes
I miss your form

So that I wouldn’t forget
A single time
My heart clicked the shutter, oblivious to anything else
It was a painful happiness

“I just love you”
“I just love you”
“I just love you”
That was enough for me

The kisses we had when it rained
Connect us

I’ll never feel this way again for the rest of my life
I can’t say it well
But the days since I met you
Have shone brightly

“I just love you”
“I just love you”
“I just love you”
The happiness you gave me
“I just love you”
“I just love you”
“I just love you”
That was enough for me

The little room is decorated
With our smiles, love photos

ROCK&READ 52 - Tora Alice Nine [Interview 1]

— The last time he appeared in this magazine was in summer 2008. Back then, he talked to us revealing his opinions about the situation he was in, in which there was a gap between his popularity and his skills. Now, it has been five and a half years since then. Right now they have become a strong rock band, but this time we’d like to draw out even more from him about the changes in his mental state and sound.

Tora: Please treat me well. But has it really been five and a half years?

— We talked about when you suffered from a neck hernia while you were on tour. After skipping a few lives, you soon revived. You said that when you couldn’t even move your left hand as an effect of the hernia, you thought, “It’s all over, being a guitarist as well as my life.”

Tora: I did. But I’m totally alright now. I was worried that I would get into relapse, but it’s completely fine right now. That has become the past. Things have changed, including my music. I’ve grown older as a human being, and so have my music.

— But that’s a good thing, isn’t it?

Tora: Well, I suppose so. Alice Nine is not the kind of band that has a strict ‘this is Alice Nine’ concept, and we’re also not the kind of band that keeps doing the same thing over and over again. We always want to do new stuff every single time, so I think we’re a band that continues while we go through a lot changes. That’s the way we are until today and will be so from now on.

— I see. But I think that you do have a certain stereotype as a band. I’m saying that because your new single [SHINING] is a bright, positive song that tells people to stand up and have a strong determination, but I really felt an Alice Nine-ish stereotype in it.

Tora: Of course. Perhaps we do have that stereotype. I think that what everyone considers as Alice Nine’s stereotype is the bright, sparkly part of our music, right? We have released a lot of singles and lead songs that gave bright impression, that’s why we are often thought to have this image. However, if you give a good listening to Alice nine, you might find that we are actually a band with a lot of heavy, hard and maniacal sound. But why doesn’t this kind of image ever stick to us? Sometimes I wonder about that too (lol).

— That’s for sure. There were even more tunes that sounded like that in the albums. It’s a mystery, huh.

Tora: Right. That’s because there’s also a side of us that is the ‘Album Band’ that performs lives after making albums. Doesn’t it feel like, in our singles, the parts that focused on being bright and cheerful were stripped off? When
that is easily received by people as a substitute of Alice Nine’s introduction, it might be perceived as an entrance ((to our.music)) that has a pleasant image. But I sometimes wonder if it isn’t slightly different, when you end.up being caught up in this image. The.reason is because we are truly a maniacal band in terms of the music that we do.

— I think so. Until the release of your second album, [Alpha] in November 2007, your appearance had also taken a bright, sparkly image, and I thought that maybe this image had gone ahead of your music. But then you also have a heavy tuned song like [Kowloon – NINE HEADS RODEO SHOW-] that you released as a single and also as one of the songs in your first album, [Zekkeishoku] that was on sale April 2006. This song has always been added in your lives even until now. It’s a rather famous song. It really is a wonder, isn’t it?

Tora: Yes, certainly. But when the band had just formed, we were quite a bright, sparkly band (lol). I think the band was seen in a “These guys, they’re not making music seriously, are they!” kind of perspective. Well, there was practically no time to make music seriously. But of course, it’s not as if Hiroto only joined the band from the start to decide when and where to eat, and it’s not like the rest of us were only there to have fun. We formed the band with the intention to make music wholeheartedly, but all of a sudden we joined our current company, and we became so busy. It was a situation where we hardly had any songs but we became busy nonetheless, and to do a live without having any song… If you’re asking me now what we had been so busy doing back then, well, we were doing photoshoots (lol). It’s because we thought we had to do photoshoots no matter what. We had such a shocking photoshoot schedule. I think there was a time when the schedule was so jam-packed, we showed up in 30 magazines in just one month. We were doing photoshoots every single day, nothing but photoshoots even though the tour was approaching. We didn’t even get to do rehearsal. We didn’t have time to rehearse. It felt like, when are we going to write songs!? Although, unexpectedly, it seems that lately there are many music magazines that went out of production, right? Well, of course we are grateful that those people from the magazines helped us and asked for us, but then we didn’t have any song, we couldn’t rehearse. However, we got the tour going, and then the storm of photoshoots that took place every day… And with that, the busy days continued. Being as busy as we were, we were gradually becoming more and more misunderstood.

— Did people ask, ‘Are you guys even selling!?’?

Tora: Right, right, right (lol). It was totally a delusion, so to say. All the busy days we went through, could those be just a delusion!? Something like that (lol). This situation continued until we released our second album which
you just mentioned, [Alpha]. In fact, as our popularity began to emerge, everyone also started to misunderstand us for some reason. That’s how it seemed. But around that time our busy days were beginning to relatively ease up. The moment we were settled down, there were a lot of things that we used to do that vanished in an instant. We tried performing in a large live house, taking our chances without having the skills to back us up. I think the audience could tell as well. It made us realize and we came to the point where we thought, “Let’s do this more seriously.”

— The last time you appeared in this magazine, you also talked to us about your first experience performing at the International Forum Hall A, September 3rd 2007.

Tora: Yes. Despite thinking it would be a sold out live, it wasn’t. It changed everyone’s way of thinking in an instant. Or rather, it made us reconsider. It really felt like we began to re-evaluate everything. I think that it was from around that time that we started becoming a band in its true meaning.

— That maybe so. Shou-kun, too, often says that whenever he looks back to those days, he thinks you guys were “a band playing house”. However, you are certainly a band that prioritized on vigor. I think that you had a good start, because it’s important to run swiftly counting on that vigor.

Tora: But I think it’s completely unacceptable if all that was not accompanied with the adequate skills. If I attempt to look back now to our earlier lives, I think we did an awful job. We were very, very horrible. The reason was because, for those lives, we simply lined up the songs that we wrote during the spare time we could find in between our busy schedule. The Japanese-Western blend concept that we had back in our early days was just something we said because it was preferable  that we had some kind of concept. Because of that, our earlier costumes had that kind of feeling as well. But those components in particular were no longer incorporated within our music, so there was no meaning in establishing that as our concept.anymore. As we came to the phase where we noticed, “No that’s not how it’s suppose to be,” we removed that concept.

— In June 2009, you guys changed the way you write your band’s name from [アリス九號.] to [Alice Nine]. What did you mean by that?

Tora: I suppose back then we felt that our expanse had narrowed, so we changed the writing to English. The kanji writing left a big impression. At that moment, the desire to widen our expanse was strong.

— I see. But back then Tora-kun said, “We don’t have a fixation for big venues.”

Tora: That hasn’t changed even until today. We love performing lives so the size of the venue is irrelevant. The best thing is to be able to perform a live with a sense of unity, so we’re not picky about the size of the venue.

— You also said, “We don’t have a certain goal like performing at Budoukan or someplace like that.”

Tora: I guess that has changed. Recently I think I would like to stand on Budoukan at least once. Now it feels like we have things we would like to show at Budoukan. Until today I get the feeling that I don’t really understand why things like that exist. Of course, back then we did want to perform a live that was fitting for a place like Budoukan, but we didn’t have a grasp on the harsh reality. We felt we weren’t suitable for it, or should I say, we weren’t worth it. But now we’ve gained the confidence that we can properly reveal to everyone. I’d like to try to stand there one more time with our present state. I think that, recently, we’ve come to the point where we can do a live in the sense of ‘creating a venue’. Even though we are playing the same songs, if as much as the song’s interval is different, the way people see it will drastically change. Until that day, all we thought was “let’s just play the songs”, so it would have been okay if we hadn’t performed in Budoukan. We hadn’t set our minds as to what we wanted to show even though we were performing in such a huge place.
But now there are things we wish to reveal to our audience in terms of a show, so now we can consider performing in a large venue. Because there are things we think we’d like to do, we want to perform there. I think that’s how it is.

— Something that isn’t vague right? Does it have anything to do with the changes you experienced upon your musicality?

Tora: I suppose it does, but I think there’s a bigger tendency that leans toward our awareness. Or should I say, the coordination between the members. When we’re doing a live, I think that if there is no unity between the members, it won’t become anything good. Even though each member is expressing themselves, it will never be a good live. That is not the only meaning of performing live. Once we’ve decided on the direction we want to go, if I don’t start from thinking things through together with my fellow bandmates on our way toward that direction, we won’t be able to perform a great live. Even if we are performing in a large venue, I don’t think we can get anything across to the audience. I think that, first of all, we have to start from arranging our own awareness, and then walk forward toward that place.

— I understand. Tora-kun is also someone who views a band like Alice Nine objectively. With that same perspective, how do you see the changes that occurred to.other members?

Tora: The changes were big, I think. Since we performed for the first time in International Forum Hall, I believe everyone has gone through many changes. I suppose everyone else changed a lot more than I did. I think Saga-kun changed a lot. Shou-kun, too. Alice Nine has lost that much confidence to do things thoughtlessly. That is because, in a sense, we are a band that started from a condition where we had maximum confidence.

— Right now you’re speaking what you really think, aren’t you? In Tora-kun’s own way.

Tora: Yes (lol). But that’s honestly what I think. Ever since we formed the band, entered our current company, years have passed, and our confidence gradually diminished. However, around the time we first performed in International Forum Hall, when we reached the moment where we wanted to give up, when we thought, “There’s no use anymore,” everybody gathered and faced the same direction, and said, “Yosha! Let’s start again, this time with all we’ve got, let’s do our best from zero! Let’s do this seriously!” The moment we were able to think like that, it became some sort of an unique support. I suppose Alice Nine manages to continue because that moment existed. I think that maybe every band has this moment that acts as their turning point. But the number of bands that didn’t have a similar direction at the same time and ended up disbanding is not small either. That’s something Alice Nine stood up to and fixed.

— You’ve ‘become a band’ in its true meaning, right? I think Alice Nine has gone through an immense growth since that time.

Tora: Everyone has become adults, even the way we think. I think this is what a band is supposed to be, essentially. We weren’t ready at all for it in the past. Well, I believe there isn’t any band that understands to that extent when the members are in their twenties, but if they know how to understand it from the very beginning, they can be a really awesome band. I’m not judging or anything, but back then, the company we joined itself was also still very young, so I don’t think they had the means to give us, who were still green in the matter of music, any guidance. The company excelled at publicizing us in magazines, medias and such, but I think they were still on a growing level. We were still pretty much ignorant when we came in, so we were busy doing photoshoots more than making songs or doing lives, and when we were expected to have more skills, that expectation became a burden to us. Again, I’m not judging the company at all, seriously. I think the ones who had zero knowledge were ourselves. What I’m trying to say is, I feel that all of us, including the company, were growing together.

Former KAT-TUN member and then solo artist Akanishi Jin has just announced on facebook that he has left his agency Johnny's & Associates. He posted the following message in both Japanese and English:

I Jin Akanishi have come to an agreement with Johnny & Associates, Inc. not to continue our contract that expired on 02/28/2014.
I have the utmost gratitude for everyone I have worked with and the experiences I've had.
To my Fans and everyone who has supported me thus far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We have agreed to this decision so that I may follow my dream of putting as much energy into my
global career as I have here in Japan.
I will do everything I can to make new memories with all my supporters, I'm looking forward to sharing my dream with all of you!

sincerely
Jin Akanishi
2014/03/02"
Akanishi has always had a strong interest in developing his career abroad. After leaving KAT-TUN in
2006, he left to study English in Los Angeles. However, soon after, he caused trouble by reporting his
marriage to actress Kuroki Meisa, after it actually happened, to his agency.

Since then, his viewpoints have been diverging from that of the agency's. As of now, Akanishi's page.on Johnny's net as well as official fan site Johnny's web have not been updated to reflect this change.

Rihwa - Change [Lyric]

Kanji

From Mars’ shadow the flickering light’s future
faintly shining through without noticing the silent hope
Tears freeze I don’t feel anything
It’s pleasant.
Inside Saturn’s ring at the grave-post of unfulfilled wishes
“Take me out from here.” a melody which reaches from the silent sea
Because I call out to it, many times over love love.
Repeatedly, resonating, voice out and show me the spark of eternity
To be wounded to be wounded an interrupted melody for you.
“Can you hear it from there?” a melody which reaches from the silent sea
Repeatedly, resonating, voice out and show me the spark of eternity
To be wounded to be wounded the experienced pain now, I set off to encounter it
Leaving into custody your world.

Translation

In the middle of the atmosphere, i do not need wishes that seems to burn
With inferiority complex, i'm trying to see the dazzling world by opening the windows
It's like an illusion; lost is not sunny

I always, up until now, i do not wait for life
Kick those lies for the feelings!
I would want someone who lamented and want to be loved
Ambiguous voice surely won't reach anyone
WAY OF LIGHT

In an unanswered sentimental, you pretend to have realized
Stop acting, if you run, it will surely becomes lighter
Therefore, i want to find all important things in the universe

I wandered along the road without light, I was lighten by a warm voice
Don't give up with common words
Kick by showing your strength!

Formless things seem to be important, even it's worth the pain of wanting a heart
WAY OF LIGHT

In the middle of the atmosphere, i do not need wishes that seems to burn
Falling, sinking to the bottom of the sea
In the words where the light shines roughly,
Then we should be able to fly anywhere across the galaxy!

I would want someone who lamented and want to be loved
Ambiguous voice surely won't reach anyone
Even still,

I hoped to be loved, i hoped to reach where you are alone
No matter how hurt it is, i will tie these distant hands
To be fine next to you, next to you, it's you.

flumpool : Waku Waku Japan Music Festival 2014

On February 15th, 2014, WAKUWAKU JAPAN held a music
festival as part of their
launching promotion. They invited JKT48, Afgan, BCL, and flumpool.

JKT48 opened the show with their hits, Musim Panas Sounds Good, Ponytail, and River. The strong River dance is really good and most of the top members like
Melody, Haruka, Nabilah, Ayana
and Veranda were on the stage
giving their best performance.
After their performance, the MC, Shopie, asked about their role for WAKUWAKU JAPAN. They said that they’ll be WAKUWAKU JAPAN’s supporting ambassador for promoting the tv launch. Ayana added that she loves watching Japanese drama, while Ghaida said she likes to watch Japanese anime.

Right after JKT48 performed Sophie called Afgan. This phenomenal and cute singer
performed his hits throughout the show and he even covered the famous ballad by Brian Mcknight, One Last Cry. Since most of his songs are ballad songs and made people feeling blue or reminisced the good old days, he said to the fans that hopefully all the boys that night will find their soul mate soon, and perhaps it will be the member of JKT48. It was followed by the sound of
“AMEN..!” with all the males shouted out loud in the venue. He sang the hits like Dia Dia Dia, Terima Kasih Cinta, Bawalah Pergi Cintaku, One Last Cry, Jodoh Pasti Bertemu and Panah Asmara.

Bunga Citra Lestari or publicly known as BCL, stood out in her
performance. She sang her best hits like Hot, Sunny, Jangan Gila, Cinta Sejati, Aku dan Dirimu, Karena Ku Cinta Kau. The funny moment is when the JKT 48’s fans change the Sunny lyrics to their
favorite member’s name. But
anyway her live is always fun to watch.

flumpool finally hit the stage.
They rocked the venue with their hits like Kakusei Identity, their first debut song Hana ni nare, Taisetsuna mono kimi igai ni miataranakute, Over the rain (the original soundtrack for Bloody Monday drama starring Miura Haruma and Takeru Satoh), Hoshi ni Negai wo, and it was closed with Kimi ni Todoke (the original soundtrack of Kimi ni Todoke movie starring Miura Haruma).
Their fans came brought the
concert attribute and posters to support them. During their live performance, they introduced themselves in Bahasa Indonesia, they even used the slang term.

Kazuki shouted, “Hai, Kami flumpool! Kalian bersenang-senang? Terima kasih. Kalian tahu flumpool? Ciyus? Saya cinta kalian!”
(*Hi, we’re flumpool? Are you guys having fun? Thanks! Do you know flumpool? Really? I love you!”)

During the introduction, they
showed their skit skill for
Indonesian audience.

Ryuta : Terima kasih sudah datang, saya senang sekali. Kami flumpool dari Jepang. Saya Ryuta vokalis. Drummer, Seiji. Bassist, Genki, dan ….Kamu (pointing at Kazuki)
(* Thanks for coming. I’m really happy. We’re flumpool from Japan. I’m Ryuta, the vocalist. Drummer, Seiji, Bassist, Genki, and you…)

Kazuki : Saya… Joe Taslim.
(*I am Joe Taslim – a famous handsome Indonesian actor)

Ryuta : Bukan… kamu… Doraemon.
(*No, you are… Doraemon)

Kazuki is speechless,
but then he said “Baling
Baling Bambu” with Doraemon
voice, (* Bamboo helicopter
that Doraemon often used).

Kazuki : Sorry, sorry. I’m not
Doraemon. It’s just a joke. I’m
Kazuki, the guitarist.

After Over the rain, Ryuta tried to speak in Bahasa Indonesia again. This time is longer, but he has the note, so no worries.

“Kalian bersenang-senang? Saya coba Bahasa Indonesia, ya. Terima kasih WAKUWAKU JAPAN, kami jadi bisa datang ke Indonesia. Tapi kami sekarang agak sedih karena kami suka Indonesia, tapi kami tidak tahu apa bisa kembali lagi. Sebelum lagu terakhir kami, supaya kami tidak lupa dengan kalian, ayo keluarkan suara kalian! Ayo keluarkan lagi Jakarta! Kami
cinta kalian!”
(*Are you having fun? I will try to speak Bahasa Indonesia, ok? Thank you WAKUWAKU JAPAN for inviting us to Indonesia. But we’re
pretty sad now because we love
Indonesia and we don’t know when we can come back to
Indonesia. So before we our last song, make us remember you. Shout out your voice, shout more Jakarta!! We love you!”).

After they ended the performance, Sophie asked their feelings to have the performance in Indonesia. Ryuta said he’s very happy and the crowd is hot so he wants to go back again. Seiji was asked whether he can speak any
Indonesian or not then again, he only answered one word, “No”. A very simple and short answer like he did in press conference and it always made the people who see it laugh.

Ryuta was asked about the
Indonesian girls and he said that the girls are so cute. He said, now he can’t speak Indonesian very well and that he wants to learn again.

Random question to Genki’s hair, whether it is a real curl or not, and Genki said it’s a wig, only then he said it was a joke though. They said they’re happy to be part of the festival and they want to come again if they’re invited because even though flumpool is not well known in Jakarta, but people can connect easily with their music.

The event was closed with the hits from JKT48, Flying Get and
Fortune Cookies.

Oricon PSP1800 Vol. 30 Yasuno (Kra) x Nao (Alice Nine) [Interview]

Writer: Well, this is the last
installment of this column. Let's
give it our all! If we make this
ending the best we can, it'll all be
worth it. On the other hand, if the
ending isn't great, it'll ruin EVERYTHING.

Yasuno: Hey, hey! You're the
writer, right? (Laughs) What's the
big idea, putting those thoughts in
my head?! (Laughs) Anyway, aren't
I the host for today?

Writer: Yes. All of this rests on the
host's shoulders--

Yasuno: HEY HEY HEY, come on!
(Laughs)

Nao: It's already fall, but it's
reaching 30C outside. We have the
AC on in the room, and my body...it feels....cold. (Said with conviction in monologue-style)

Writer: ..............

Nao: (Gathers his joke fell on deaf
ears) Hm? Is something wrong?

Yasuno: Somethin' wrong?! You're
the one with somethin' wrong, ha!
At this point, who's to say if we're
gonna have a normal conversation,
or be maniacs and just babble
about drumming the entire time,
we two.

Nao: True that!

Yasuno: At any rate, Nao, to whom
I'm inseparably bound to, has come in today. Nao, we met, what,
like over 15 years ago?

Nao: Is that how it's starting? I don't think it was more than 15
years, but at least 10 years ago.

Yasuno: Yeah, yeah, when I was in
the band before Kra, in Niigata.
We were just finishing up
rehearsals at Nagoya's Heartland, I
think that's when we first spoke.

Nao: Oh yeah! We played together
that night, I was in my band prior
to Alice Nine then.

Yasuno: Yeah, yeah! We talked
about how our getting into playing
the drums as a hobby was similar,
it got me all excited! That was the
first thing we talked about.

Nao: Notti (Yasuno's nickname)
helped carry my China dress in for
me. I thought, awe, he's a really
nice guy. Back then, we still didn't
know much about visual kei, so
there was still a lot of learning to
do.

Yasuno: Is that so?! Ahh, it was
that time, wasn't it. There were a
lot of bands around at that time,
we played with about 10 of 'em.
Oh, but y'know, what I remember
most is when we had just gotten
signed and did the PSC tour with
everyone in 2005.

Nao: Yay! We all traveled in one
big bus. Oh, yeah! While we were
on the bus we'd watch footage of
the day's concert. All the bands
would review each other ...Aaah,
that was awwwful!

Yasuno: Hahaha! It was kinda like
an open execution, wasn't it!

Nao: Yeah, but because of that,
our vocalist, Shou, he said to me,
"Yasuno gave me some great
advice!" And he was so grateful.
Such a sweet 'senpai,' I thought.

Yasuno: Oh wow, you remember
that talk, huh? Yeah, I feel like
because of that, we all grew a bit
closer together.

Nao: That was over 8 years ago.
Yasuno: Yeah, it was a fun time.

Mr. Pay...

Nao: Ah!! I've got a funny story
from that tour! At that time, Saga
and I shared a hotel room! And
the day after that while we were
waiting for the bus to head out,
they told us "Somebody give us the fees for the paycard, they need to settle the bill!" That was from my and Saga's room.

Writer: A paycard...that's a card
you use to pay extra to watch
naughty movies, isn't it?

Nao: Yes, yes (laughs). But they
don't have just porn, they have
regular movies too! (Laughs) Well,
it seems to have mostly an
association with porn, though. At
any rate, I got called out when
they asked for the extra cash!

Writer: AHAHAHA! If it's Saga and
Nao, Nao's the culprit, huh?

Nao: Yeah! Saga wanted to watch
some American movies, and I
actually ended up wanting to check
out some porn. Ahhh, this is an
embarrassing storyyyy (laughs). I
got the nickname "Mr. Pay" that
day! And thus began my own
personal tragedy--for about 3 years after that, everyone called me Mr. Pay!

Yasuno: Ahaha, that did happen,
didn't it! Speaking of Nao,
something happened with you
when we went on tour again with
one other band, didn't it! It was
when we were transferring buses.
Nao was supposed to sit next to me and Saga, and we were on our way to the live house in Nagoya, and just as we were about to get on the bus and head out a staff
member was verifying that we were all there. "Everyone here?" And Saga says "Yes! We're all lined up!" And I was like, "Huh? I coulda
sworn Nao was here, I guess he
changed seats." And sure enough,
we made it to maybe the first
traffic light, and we realized, "Ah,
yep, Nao isn't here." (Laughs) So
we turn around and go back, and it
turns out Nao had been pushing
other people waiting on buses out
of the way as he was desperately
trying to catch up to the bus.
(Laughs)

Writer: Saga screws you over a lot,
doesn't he, Nao? (Laughs)

Nao: It's so true though, totally!!
(Laughs)

Writer: We're gonna revive the 'Mr. Pay' nickname starting today!!

Nao: NO WAY!! (Laughs) And you
know my fans are probably like
"Nao's a little fairy, he wouldn't
watch porn!"

Writer: ....... (Dead silence in the
room)

Yasuno: What...what's up with the
atmosphere in here?! (Laughs)

Nao: AHAHAHA! (Busts a gut)

Little drummer boys...

Writer: Let's talk about even more
secrets you guys have, stuff we
don't already know.

Nao: Secrets? Hmmm.... Oh yeah!
Notti's (Yasuno's) chair for his drum set is really crazy high!!
Almost like a high chair! I can't
even get my legs up on it.

Yasuno: It's 'cause I like to hit
from a shallow stance on my chair.

Nao: Notti's super original with his
composition of his set-up, he's
really unique.

Writer: Nao's bass drum looks a lot
bigger than Notti's, though.

Yasuno: They're the same size, but
they look different due to how we
set up our drums. My setting has
them all up a bit higher, while
Nao's drums are set lower.

Nao: Yes, yes! And that's why it
looks bigger!

Yasuno: And the drums I have set
up above the bass drum are full-
sized, so that also makes mine look smaller.

Nao: That makes a lot of sense!
But hey, y'know, for drummers,
setting up the drums depends on
play style and personality! In that
respect I think Notti's a little
greedy (laughs). But I don't mean
he sets them up in a gaudy fashion, he just aligns everything
up according to his feelings. You
can set it up to accommodate any
style!

Yasuno: Yeah, that's true. I
remember getting the chance to sit at your drum set once and
thinking, Nao's drum set is really
set up for rock music! But Nao, he's a serious guy. I don't think I
know of any other musician who
practices as hard as he does. At
least in the past, he seemed to
spend more time in the studio
practicing than people who
actually worked in the studio!

Nao: Yeah, I was, I was! I'd get the
studio around lunchtime, and I
wouldn't get home until midnight,
1, 2, 3am sometimes. After that I'd watch instructional DVDs, then
work on musical scores: then I'd
sleep, then go back to the studio
and practice some more, over and
over. Inside, I felt like I got a later
start than everyone else, so I
practiced with every ounce of my
being.

Yasuno: Really? But it seemed to
come so naturally to you!

Nao: No no no, I had to work really hard at it.

Yasuno: That is amazing. With
such little free time to yourself,
having an opportunity to just sit
and chat like this would never
happen!

Writer: So you guys have never
hung out together?

Yasuno: Nope.

Nao: I don't even go out to go
shopping! I do it all online.

Yasuno: Really?!

Nao: Yep! (Laughs) This morning I
bought a mattress online! (Laughs)
And then, and then, I bought
ingredients for cooking! And, and,
and I set up an appointment, right? For the delivery guy to bring
my stuff. So the doorbell ringing
with my orders has become my
alarm clock! (Laughs)

Nao the Happy Egpplant Man...

Yasuno: AHAHAHA! Don't make the delivery guy your alarm clock!
(Laughs) So, what kind of
ingredients did you buy?

Nao: Vacuum-packed pork in broth, and some mackerel! (Laughs)

Writer: What about vegetables?

Nao: Oh, I go to a greengrocer
nearby to get those (laughs). Oh,
but for a little while, I grew my
own!

Yasuno: EH?! You grew veggies
yourself?! DO TELL.

Writer: Oh yeah, I remember you
saying you had rented part of a
field to plant things!

Yasuno: Wait, you rented a field...?

Nao: Yes (laughs). I rented a plot
of land for growing, and I
cultivated them myself! I actually
started growing on my veranda,
but transferred it to the field
(laughs).

Yasuno: Do you still do it??

Nao: Right now I don't, but I think
if I get some more time, I'd like to
do it again!

Yasuno: Well, if ya do, wouldja like
some guidance from a farmer's boy like me?

Nao: Oh, really?! Yes, please!!

Yasuno: Well, y'know, I'm from an
onion farm in Awaji, after all
(laughs).

Nao: Aaaah, that's soooo cool. But
hey, the veggies I grew were
especially delicious!

Yasuno: What did you grow?

Nao: EGGPLANT! Oh, god, they
were so tasty I couldn't believe it!
I'd harvest them and grill them
afterwards and they were SO
GOOD! I was so surprised!!

Writer: But, if you were always
practicing or going on tour,
whenever did you find the time to
grow eggplants?

Nao: Oh, that! Yeah, well, I
couldn't go during the day, so at
night I would go to fertilize the
plants, and people would think I
was up to no good, and I got
reported! (Laughs)

Yasuno: Ahahaha! What, did
someone think you were stealing
the vegetables?! (Laughs) What
else did you grow?

Nao: Hmm, I grew tomatoes! And
basil! And lettuce! I grew a lot of
different things.

Yasuno: That's so coooool! (In
admiration) But...why on earth did
you decide to grow vegetables?

Nao: Well, in a world where you
can get ahold of anything you want
so quickly and easily, I just felt like
going back to basics. I wanted to
feel the joys of life! That sort of
thing.

Yasuno: ...Waitasec. You just said
you only shop online. Aren't you
kinda contradicting yourself a bit?!

Nao: Ahahaha...yeah, a little.
(Laughs)

Let's go drinking!

Yasuno: Is there anything you've
been obsessed over lately?

Nao: Lately? Yes, yes there is!

Yasuno: What is it? Tell me!
(Laughs)

Nao: Nitamago! (boiled egg in soy
sauce marinade)

Yasuno: Nitamago?!

Nao: Yeah, yeah! (Laughs) I've
really gotten into making it myself! (Laughs) No really, it's so tasty! It takes some time to make it, but once you do, IT IS SO GOOD!

Writer: Really tasty things are the
best, aren't they!

Yasuno: The trick for good
nitamago is to soft-boil the yolk!

Nao: Yeah! To get it that amber
color!

Writer: How do you do that?

Nao: It's a secret! (Laughs) That's
a trade secret . But, I make it over
the span of several days. It takes a
lot of effort, but the fruits of one's
labor is definitely sweet!

Yasuno: Dang, Nao, you're a
strange fellow! Up on stage you're
rocking out playing the drums, but
you farm, and make nitamago...

Nao: A gap, there's a gap. (laughs)

Writer: For some people the gap
can be weak, isn't that right?
(Laughs)

Yasuno: For real (laughs). I'd really
like to chat about even more
interesting things with you, Nao!

Writer: Maybe go drinking
sometime?

Yasuno: Yeah, we've never done
that!

Nao: Definitely invite me! (Laughs)

Yasuno: Well, I have gone to a
drinking party you hosted once!

Nao: Oh yeah, you have!

Yasuno: I do believe I remember
Nao to be quite the weepy drunk.

Nao: Ahahaha! I may have even
cried! Let's definitely spend some
more time drinking together!
(Laughs)

Yasuno: Indeed! Let's keep talking
after these 30 minutes are up. And babble on about drumming like maniacs!

Nao: YES!! I can't wait!!

Rihwa - Last Love [Lyric]

I just felt that I knew it all
I just tried to put it all away
Everytime I got too much to recall
I’m holding back my tears

Taking plenty of time
We all made it getting here
And we wanted someone to
understand
What we believe

Fireworks in water
That’s how I’m burning as a fighter
No matter what will wait for us
Please let me get closer
And let me touch the core of your world
As we are carrying on
Till all pain’s gone

No one knows who is who at all
Someone calls someone to fall apart
Everything I did wrong for our love was
That we had no fears

My world is going around
I can touch the ground
And I’ll be the core of my world
For holding your hand

Fireworks in water
That’s how I’m burning as a fighter
No matter what will wait for us
Please let me get closer
And let me touch the core of your world
As we are carrying on
Till all pain’s gone

Trying to talk about things that are trivial
Is making my heart beating like a merry-go-round
I had some nights that I shed tears on my pillow
Believing in myself everything will be alright
All I wanna do is to walk by your side

Fireworks in water
That’s how I’m burning as a fighter
No matter what will wait for us
Please let me get closer
And let me touch the core of your world
As we are carrying on
Till our love never goes away

Rihwa - Harukaze「春風」 Ost. 僕のいた時間 [Lyric]

KANJI

季節外れの桜の花に
寄り添うように差し込んだ木漏れ日
時に迷って 時に嘆いた
私の傍にはあなたが居たよね

Cause I love you
あなたを守るよ
Still, I turn to you

I'm missing you
触れたくなるの
Always be true

Cause I'm loving you
あなたを守るよ
Always be true
愛しているよ
今あなたに伝わりますように
この胸の中でずっと
鮮やかに彩る景色が見えたの
息吹の香りにあなたを感じて
私は歩いて行くの

TRANSLATION

I wonder if, at that time
you could just say "don't go"
cause I'll be near to you
Our eyes just stuck with our footsteps
It could be another year after we
met?
It's not there at an instant,
but time is passing so fast
after I met you

What could I have been done to
you?
It feels like I'm so stupid and just
thought of it

If I was with you, the thing is
I needed your smile
It's so sad without you
you're my dearest,
it's always the same time

I wonder if, at that time, you & me
the promise that you didn't gave
me
maybe I wasn't able to move
forward
so Thank You

I do love you
still you're in love nothing changes
from being connected with you

For instance, if parting ways comes,
I want to meet you as many times
I want
Don't forget, in your heart, I'm
always here

Little by little, the future of us
is beginning to shine, with colors
descending and in full glory,
could you light up those days?

This path will be remembered for
many years,
it just reflects you, if I can't no
longer seen any lovely views

I shed tears,
because of happiness
In the same time with you,
I can move forward and face
because I keep on believing
You can go as one faces forward
